Wyoming PT and PTA CEU requirements
What physical therapists and physical therapist assistants need to renew a Wyoming license, summarized from the board's own rules. Last checked October 24, 2026.
Required topics
- At least 15 of the 30 hours from Category A: live courses or conferences (in person or live audio and video) from APTA, its sections and state chapters, FSBPT, or providers they approve. Wyoming Department of Health and Department of Education activities related to PT also count.
Rules to know
- PTs and PTAs have the same requirement.
- The rest can be Category B: self-study and online courses, teaching, peer-reviewed publishing, board or association work, and up to 5 hours of clinical instruction.
- Extra hours don't carry over to the next period.
- Staff meetings, routine teaching that's part of your job, and repeats of the same course don't count.
- Keep proof for 1 year after the period ends, in case you are audited.
- Licenses renew every year, but the 30 hours are counted over a 2-year reporting cycle.
- The board counts in continuing competence units (CCUs).
