What physical therapists and physical therapist assistants need to renew a Nevada license, summarized from the board's own rules. Last checked October 24, 2026.
Required topics
None. Any course that meets the rules below counts.
Rules to know
- PTs and PTAs have the same requirement.
- No more than 8 hours (0.8 units) can be nonclinical.
- The board doesn't count training in fields it considers unrelated to physical therapy.
- If you were first licensed between February 1 and July 31, you don't need hours for that licensing period.
- Nevada's rule says 1.5 units, where a unit is 10 hours of instruction.
Official sources
This is a plain-language summary to help you plan. Rules change and your board has the final word, so confirm with the sources above before you renew. These are physical therapy rules: OTs renew through the state's occupational therapy board, and athletic trainers also keep their BOC certification.
