Georgia PT and PTA CEU requirements
What physical therapists and physical therapist assistants need to renew a Georgia license, summarized from the board's own rules. Last checked October 23, 2026.
Required topics
- 4 hours of Georgia ethics and jurisprudence, or passing the Georgia Ethics and Jurisprudence Exam. Courses must come from a Georgia university with an accredited PT program or a provider with a current PTAG approval certificate.
Rules to know
- PTs and PTAs have the same requirement.
- No more than 10 hours count per calendar day.
- Reading professional literature counts for 3 hours at most.
- The board doesn't pre-approve courses, so you confirm that each course relates to physical therapy patient care.
- If you were licensed in the last six months of a renewal period, you don't need that period's hours.
