Rules to know
- Licenses renew every year, but CE proof is only due at renewal in odd-numbered years, covering the 24 months before.
- At least 30 hours must come from education presentations (class I) or the other higher classes in the regulation. Home study, correspondence and internet courses with a test count for at most 20 hours. In-service training counts for at most 4 hours per session.
- If you were first licensed within a year of an odd-year renewal, none are due that time; 1 to 2 years, 20 hours.
- If you can't finish, you can ask the board for an extension with a plan to complete the hours.
