Pennsylvania OT and OTA CEU requirements
What occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants need to renew a Pennsylvania license, summarized from the board's own rules. Last checked October 24, 2026.
Required topics
- At least 2 hours of board-approved training in child abuse recognition and reporting (part of the 24) (child abuse recognition and reporting by state)
Rules to know
- Your first biennial renewal is exempt from the hours, but not from the 2 hours of child abuse training.
- Activities about marketing, office management, financial gain or self-promotion don't count.
- Fieldwork supervision, mentorship, writing and editing each count up to their own caps (12 to 15 hours per biennium).
- You verify your hours at renewal. Keep a portfolio of your activities for 4 years after the biennium ends.
Official sources

- 49 Pa. Code § 42.55, Acceptable continued competency activities
