Oregon OT and OTA CEU requirements
What occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants need to renew a Oregon license, summarized from the board's own rules. Last checked October 24, 2026.
Required topics
- The Oregon Pain Management Commission's pain management course, at every renewal (pain management by state)
- At least 1 hour of cultural competency each renewal cycle (the Oregon Health Authority's approved list is encouraged) (cultural competency and health equity by state)
Rules to know
- Both required courses also count toward the 30 points.
- A current NBCOT certification meets the 30 points, but not the pain management or cultural competency requirements.
- Courses must relate to OT services. Courses from AOTA approved providers, the OT Association of Oregon, AOTA, NBCOT or academic institutions qualify.
- Approved courses earn 1 point per hour of attendance.
