New Hampshire OT and OTA CEU requirements
What occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants need to renew a New Hampshire license, summarized from the board's own rules. Last checked October 24, 2026.
Required topics
None. Any course that meets the rules below counts.
Rules to know
- At least half the hours must relate directly to the clinical application of occupational therapy; the rest can cover general OT theory and practice, such as supervision, consultation or curriculum development.
- Hours can be on-site or distance learning. Keeping a current NBCOT certification is one of the ways to meet the requirement (see Occ 406.03).
- If your first license was issued January 1 to August 31 of an odd-numbered year, your first renewal needs only 6 hours.
- Renewal packets are due December 1 of the renewal year; December 2 to 31 is the late renewal window.
Official sources

This is a plain-language summary to help you plan. Rules change and your board has the final word, so confirm with the sources above before you renew. If you also hold NBCOT certification, NBCOT has its own renewal requirements.
