Idaho OT and OTA CEU requirements
What occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants need to renew a Idaho license, summarized from the board's own rules. Last checked October 24, 2026.
Required topics
None. Any course that meets the rules below counts.
Rules to know
- Hours must be germane to occupational therapy. Board staff don't pre-approve courses; AOTA, Idaho OT Association and NBCOT courses are recommended sources.
- Manuscript review and board or committee service count for at most 5 hours each per renewal period.
- You attest at renewal. A share of licensees is audited each year, so keep certificates for at least 4 years.
- Idaho is moving from 1-year to 2-year licenses, phased in by birth year in 2025 and 2026. The 10 hours a year doesn't change.
Official sources
This is a plain-language summary to help you plan. Rules change and your board has the final word, so confirm with the sources above before you renew. If you also hold NBCOT certification, NBCOT has its own renewal requirements.
