Arkansas OT and OTA CEU requirements
What occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants need to renew a Arkansas license, summarized from the board's own rules. Last checked October 24, 2026.
Required topics
None. Any course that meets the rules below counts.
Rules to know
- All hours must pertain directly to occupational therapy. The committee doesn't pre-approve courses; you decide whether a course fits.
- If you work in administration or education, up to half (5 hours) can be in that area; the rest must relate to clinical OT practice.
- Book, journal or video review counts for at most 2 hours a year. Self-study, publications and research need the committee's approval before renewal.
- New licensees don't need hours for their first partial year.
Official sources
- Arkansas Regulation 6, Licensing and practice of occupational therapists (060.00.01-002)
- AOTA: Continuing competence requirements by state (September 2026)
This is a plain-language summary to help you plan. Rules change and your board has the final word, so confirm with the sources above before you renew. If you also hold NBCOT certification, NBCOT has its own renewal requirements.
