Dry needling in Indiana: the rules for physical therapists
Indiana's PT board rule (842 IAC 1-6-2) allows dry needling once you've finished the required education from a qualified provider.
Rules to know
- Until you finish, you may dry needle only as part of authorized coursework, not under another PT's supervision.
- It can't be delegated to another PT or to a PTA.
- Keep proof of your training. If the board asks and you can't show it, you're considered not competent to dry needle.
